Birdy Bread

My birds love this bread.  I alternate the bread with nestling food and sprouted seed during breeding season.  The babies thrive with this combination and they aren't hard to wean.

2 pkgs. Jiffy corn bread mix
1 cup of instant mashed potatoes
12 ozs. carrot juice or Boost Nutritional Drink
2  T. poppy seed
2 to 4 eggs and  crushed shells (I bake the shells for about 15 minutes.)
1 lrg. jar of carrot baby food
2 T. bone meal
1/2 cup of ground unsalted sunflower seed (I use sunflower chips from Hermam Brothers www.hermanbros-seed.com)
2 T. Brewers yeast
1/2 cup soy flour(Bob's Red Mill www.bobsredmill.com)
1 T. Spirulina (Orchid Tree Exotics www.orchidtreeexotics.net)
1 t. flamen oil if you are feeding color bred, if not cod liver oil or wheat germ.  Flamen oil comes from Nutritional Research 1-800-456-4931)
Bake 400 degrees in a greased 9x13 inch pan for 20 to 30 minutes.  Cut in cubes and freeze.  When you feed the bread to your birds crumble and sprinkle with a bird vitamin.
